Supporting organisations

The Hungarian government set up the Agency by merging the National Development Office and authorities managing the implementation of the National Development Plan, so that an increasingly effective and transparent institution system is able to support the efficient use of European Union funding. During the 2007-2013 period, the Agency is able to invest an annual rate of funding of 1000 billion for developing Hungary and closing the development gap.

The ERDF aims to strengthen economic and social cohesion in the European Union by correcting imbalances between its regions.

The University of Veterinary Medicine, Vienna is the only academic and research institution in Austria that focuses on the veterinary sciences and the oldest such institution in the German-speaking world. It was founded in 1765.

The EU-funded ETC-Programme (European Territorial Cooperation) supports cross-border cooperation projects in the border region of Austria and Hungary. The main objective of the programme is to intensify cross-border contacts in the areas of economy, social affairs, culture and ecology, in order to strengthen the regional competitiveness and diminish regional disparities.

The programme's efforts concentrate on two thematic areas of cooperation - the so called priorities - which comprise distinctive objectives and activity fields.
